Ariel Garten

Chief Evangelist Officer and Co-Founder at MUSE

Ariel Garten co-founded Muse® as an expression of her background in neuroscience, psychotherapy, and art. She, along with Muse®, has been featured in over 100 articles as well as on CNN and in Forbes, Fortune, Popular Science, NYT, WSJ, and GQ. Her mission? To bring accessible tools on well-being to the masses. And she’s done just that.

Today, medical centers like the Mayo Clinic along with hundreds of thousands of people around the world are using Muse® to help boost feelings of calm and focus through meditation. Ariel studied neuroscience at the University of Toronto and worked in labs at the Krembil Neuroscience Centre, researching Parkinson’s disease and hippocampal neurogenesis. Post-graduation, she trained as a psychotherapist, held a private practice, and also designed a clothing line on the side that opened Toronto Fashion Week, and has since been sold across North America.

Ariel is also the co-host of the Untangle podcast where she interviews expert neuroscientists, psychologists, and meditators to help listeners learn about their brain, how it works, and how to use it to its full potential. When Ariel’s not reading brains (literally) or investing in and advising other start-ups, you can find her giving talks around the world—from the TED stage to MIT. She loves helping people become their best selves and being a mom at her home in Toronto.
